A Secret Sound on the LaVida Local Stage
Michael Shutt and TJ Robertson are A Secret Sound and the driving force behind LaVida Local. Last fall they learned that a concert for a cause can change lives. They headlined a concert to benefit Adam Tanksley’s Cancer Relief Fund. From there they were inspired to bring their concert series to the cause of Invisible Children. Thus, LaVida Local was born. We are looking forward to taking this series beyond tonight as A Secret Sound sets in motion a legacy of outreach, support, and a safe environment for young artists to share their talents and make a difference.
Abbey Price on the LaVida Local Stage
The Musical Artistry of Abbey Price graced the LaVida Local stage at 9:00 PM. A student at North Mecklenburg High School, Abbey has participated in previously in the event that has become LaVida Local. With piano and guitar, Abbey always lights up the crowd. We look forward to her continued support of the LaVida Local concert series.
Desmond Myers on the LaVida Local Stage
Desmond Myers has been wowing audiences all over for quite some time, and often comes to Harrison to support events like Adam Tanksley and now, Invisible Children. Desmond has a CD called “Home from Nowhere” and has graciously offered to donate the proceeds tonight for Invisible Children.
Alexis Worthington on the LaVida Local Stage
Alexis Worthington, a Junior at Appalachian Univerisity majoring in the Recording Arts, shared her original music and a few covers. Alexis is an amazing musician, who was Taylor Hudson’s youth mentor last summer. We hope that Alexis will come back to grace the LaVida Local Stage.
Taylor Hudson on the LaVida Local Stage
Taylor Hudson, a rising Junior at South Mecklenburg High School lead off the event with her original song “All I Need is You” that she wrote after her Youth Beach Trip the summer of 2008. This is Taylor’s first song, and only the second time she has performed it live. Taylor brought down the house. What a great way to start.
